As we start our lives as a married couple, the plan is to not stay in the Sutton area. Samuel has started the process of closing shop, with the Bakery’s last day (in the current location) being the 30th May. We will then go on ministry training at the start of June for about a week, before heading to Malawi (Africa) for 6 months. 

When we visited Malawi together in October 2025, we felt that God was speaking to us about going back to Malawi for a longer period. Our aim in this time would be to serve the Lord - both in our work with Hope4Malawi but also in local ministry work.

While in Malawi, we plan to live and work in rural Blantyre. Charis will continue working for the charity Hope4Malawi part time, based at Hope Skills Centre. Samuel will spend some time working on the farm at the Skills Centre, focusing on agriculture, animal husbandry and food processes.

Our main focus would be primarily on ministry. We plan to dedicate two days a week to ministry work- doing as Jesus instructs us in Matthew 10:8. We plan for our ministry to focus specifically on the spiritual needs of individuals and regions, based in the Blantyre area.

As part of these two days a week, we hope to equip the locals in these same things - training some of the local community in prayer ministry with the idea of encouraging them to bring these skills into their own local villages. We aim to provide an extended programme specifically aimed at training and equipping others to be Jesus in their community: binding up the broken hearted, proclaiming freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners (Isaiah 61).
